MEET THE FOUNDER
SUZZY ANIBUEZE

Suzzy is a trauma-informed community advocate with lived experience in trauma, and a background in counselling psychology, addiction, education, and fashion.

Sober Runway was born from personal experience and passion—a space where recovery and creative expression meet to restore hope. It aims to celebrate healing and resilience, especially among immigrants and marginalized communities often overlooked in traditional recovery spaces.

The Why Behind Sober Runway

    • Created to fill the gap after clinical care, including connection, visibility, and belonging.
    • Inspired by lived experience with trauma and the cultural silence surrounding healing.
    • Healing begins through connection, not shame.
    • Uses fashion, storytelling, and cultural celebration to honour recovery journeys.
    • Focuses on immigrant and Indigenous communities, where recovery is often stigmatized.
    • Our mission: to ensure everyone in recovery feels seen, valued, and celebrated.
